Almost all QA teams’ primary goal is to attain high level of automation, as close as to 100%, so they can focus on new features rather than worry about regression testing. While many may be aware of the challenges associated with a high level of automation, most don’t and learn them the hard way when they reach that stage.
Some of the key challenges include huge execution time, high rate of failures, triage of failed test scripts, and effective code coverage. While these may look obvious, the gravity of the situation becomes severe, owing to a high number of scripts written and more effort is required to make any change to these scripts.
